In February 2004 the government accepted the recommendations of the senior salaries pay review board which increased their salaries by 2 %. This takes the salary for an MSP to £50,300, and for MPs (who have a considerably smaller workload since the opening of the Scottish Parliament) to £57,485.
Labour ministers are highlighted in red and Liberal Democrats in puce.
