In an exclusive interview with BBC Scotland, Mr Dewar spoke about the controversy over his special advisers and whether his ability to lead was in question. On the 17 th February 2000, the Rt Hon Lord Hardie QC resigned as Lord Advocate upon his appointment to the bench as a Senator of the College of Justice.
The Solicitor General, Colin Body QC was appointed as Lord Advocate while Neil Davidson QC was appointed as Solicitor General.
