Tom Begg (Also number 5 on West of Scotland list) |
![]() |
| Conservative & Unionist | ||
| Tom Begg BSc is currently the Holyrood Candidate for Paisley South. Prior to that he represented the Tories three times for Westminster. He has been a council candidate a number of times and twice a Local Council Election Agent winning both seats. Tom started and ran his own business for over ten years. He enjoys a challenge and loves nothing more than working under stress to tight time scales and prides himself on keeping a cool head under pressure. An excellent motivator at work and in the voluntary sector, with a firm, fair and friendly style Tom always commands respect. Though he jokingly refers to his old age Tom is still wonderfully active and is a keen sportsman as well as a terrific photographer. The brother of one of his forefathers helped to split the church in The Disruption of 1843 but although Tom himself is religiously active, he has no such ambitions himself. Though not a big reader Tom does love Private Eye. Recent electoral experience. 1992 Westminster election, Dumbarton, 13,126 votes (29.74 %) 1987 Westminster election, Glasgow Garscadden, 3,660 votes (10.69 %) | ||
