Jackson Carlaw is aged 45, was brought up in Newton Mearnes and lived in Crookfur and Giffnock. He is married to Wyne and has two sons aged 13 and 10. He worked for 25 years in the Scotish motor industry as a major south side business. He joined the East renfrewhire Tories in 1978, fought his first Westminster by-election in 1982 and the 1983 election. He was Chairman of the Scottish Young Conservatives from 1984 to 1986, Chairman of Eastwood Conservatives from 1988 to 1992, and was Deputy Chairman of the Scottish Conservatives from 1992 to 1998. He is a Governor of Hutchesons' Grammar School and a Trustee of the Glasgow Educational and Marshall Trust. He enjoys theatre, cinema, music, reading and spending time with his children.

Stewart Maxwell was born in Glasgow on the 24 th December 1963 and educated at KingÕs Park Secondary School in Glasgow and the Glasgow College of Technology where he graduated with a BA Honours in Social Science. From 1986 to 1988 and from 1991 to 1992, he worked in the family business - Wilmax Ltd (Wholesale Meat Business). From 1988 to 1991 he was an Administrative Officerwith the Scottish Training Foundation and from 1993 to 1994 an Industrial Training Manager and from 1994 to 2000 a Senior Administrative Officer with Strathclyde Fire Brigade. From 2000 until 2003 he was Management Information System Project Manager at the Brigade Command and Control Centre of Strathclyde Fire Brigade. He is married with one daughter. Stewart joined the SNP in 1992 and was elected for the West of Scotland in 2003, he is a member of the Justice 2 Committee and the Subordinate Legislation Committee. Within the Scottish Parliamentary group Stewart is the Group Secretary. Stewart is a member of three Parliamentary cross party groups. They are; Tobacco Control, Cancer and Food. He is the Shadow Minister for Sport, Culture & Media. He steered his member's bill (Prohibition of Smoking in Regulated Areas (Scotland) Bill) through the Scottish Parliament. He is also a member of the Enterprise & Culture Committee, having moved from Justice 2 at Christmas 2006.

Frank McGee was the Strathclyde Regional Cllr for Eastwood South from 1994 to 1996 and has been the Cllr for the Clarkston ward of East Renfrewshire Council since 1995. Ken McIntosh was born on the 15 th January 1962 in Inverness and was edcuated at the Royal High School in Edinburgh and Edinburgh University where he graduated with an MA (Hons) in History. He worked with the BBC in current affairs and as a news producer from 1987 until his election as an MSP in 1999. He is married and lives in Busby with their four children. In the parliament he is Co-Convener of the Cross-Party Group on Cancer and Deputy Convener of the Cross-Party Group on a Culture of Peace in Scotland.
