'If we weren't ruled by Brussels/Strasbourg we could place our ship building orders where we liked. We could ensure a highly skilled workforce is kept occupied doing what it does best - building things. Like the Chinese do. Like the Taiwanese and the South Koreans do. Of course, our answer here in the UK is simple. We'll build super casinos.' Sean Hurl, 3 rd February 2007. |

| Paul has led an extraordinary life. Born and raised in the mining valleys of South Wales, his father was a Polish immigrant who came to the UK during the Second World War. Paul was educated at Pontypridd Boys' Grammar and from an early age had a burning desire to be a Royal Naval officer. During his 'James Bond' style career he trained at Dartmouth Royal Naval College and later qualified as a bomb and mine disposal expert, specialising in diving and handling explosives. He led a crack team of underwater bomb disposal specialists and also became the Commanding Officer of various minesweeping and minehunting ships. He survived a machine gun attack by IRA gun runners in Ireland in 1976. Using plastic explosives he was responsible for blowing-up a number of Second World War mines found off the coast of Britain. In the Royal Navy he worked with Prince Charles for a year. He lived in Nigeria for fifteen months where he was in charge of a saturation diving system. He then moved to the American Midwest for the next year. He has travelled extensively, researching material for his work and is now a full time writer. Paul lives with his wife and two teenage children at their home near Loch Lomond, Scotland. Recent electoral experience | ||

A member of UKIP since 2001,Fife Branch Secretary. Regional Secretary for UKIP Scotland. He says "I am a passionate believer in what UKIP is fighting for. I am also a passionate believer that the way forward for our party is the establishment of a hardworking branch network in Scotland. Founded, together with two other party colleagues the first new branch in Scotland, Fife Branch, in 2002. From a beginning with three office bearers, we now have a strength expanded fourfold.
I am keen to see this developed country wide. To ensure grass roots support we must carry our democratic message to the voters. If elected to the European Parliament I will work to free our nation from the corruption of the European Union, to restore and ensure our status as a free self governing nation, and to restore democratic accountability to the people."
