![]() | 'Stewart Stevenson, the successor to Alex Salmond as SNP MSP for Banff and Buchan, yesterday made a stormy debut on the floor of the parliament. He was involved in an angry clash with Rhona Brankin, the fisheries minister, soon after making his maiden speech in a debate on the need to reform the common fisheries policy. Mr Stevenson, along with SNP colleagues, tried to revive the highly-charged arguments in favour of a subsidised tie-up scheme, as well as demanding that Scottish ministers should lead the UK delegation in EU fisheries talks.'
