| Ted Brocklebank was born on the 24 th September 1942 in St Andrews and was educated at Madras College in the same town. He worked with the publishers DC Thompson from 1960 to 1963 before becoming a freelance journalist until 1965. From then until 1970 he was a journalist with Scottish TV, and then worked as a reporter for Grampian TV until 1976. He was Head of News and Current Affairs at Grampian Television from 1977 until 1985 when he became Head of Documentaries and Features. He went on to become Managing Director Greyfriars Productions from 1995 until his election in 2003. He is married with two sons, and is a member of the Church of Scotland and the NUJ (National Union of Journalists). He contested North East Fife in 1999 and 2003 and was a candidate in the 2001 Banff & Buchan by-election, increasing the Tory vote by 5.0 %. In 2003 he was third on the Tory Mid Scotland & Fife list and was elected as the fifth MSP for the region. | Roderick Campbell was born in Edinburgh on 15 June 1953. He was educated at Reading School in Reading and gained his BA(Hons) in Politics from Exeter University. He has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from Strathclyde University. He went on to qualify as a solicitor, in both England and Wales and Scotland and is currently a Partner with a multi-national partnership of lawyers based in London. He is a member of the Law Society of Scotland and the Law Society of England and Wales. Roderick is Honorary Legal Adviser to a Citizens Advice Bureau. Roderick joined the SNP in 1995, having been a supporter for many years and has campaigned for Roseanna Cunningham in four elections in Perth. He is the current Vice Convener of the Perth South Branch of the SNP. | Iain Smith was born on the 1 st of May 1960 in Gateside and was educated at Bell Baxter High School in Cupar and Newcastle University where he graduated with a BA (Hons) in Politics and Economics. He worked as an Administrative assistant Northumberland County Council in 1981. In 1982 he was an Advice worker, and from 1983 to 1985 Centre Manager at the Bonnethill Advice Centre in Dundee. He was Voluntary agent for North East Fife Liberal Association from 1985 to 1987 then Constituency Researcher for Menzies Campbell the Lib Dem MP for North East Fife from 1987 to 1998, and Constituency Organiser for North East Fife Liberal Democrats from 1998 until his election to the Scottish parliament in 1999. He was a Fife Regional Councillor from 1984 to 1996 and a Fife Cllr and leader of the Lib Dem group from 1995 to 1999. He lives with his partner and has a broad interest in sports, particularly cricket and football, and is a regular viewer of live cricket. He likes to travel widely and enjoys reading as well as having a keen interest in culture. In the parliament he is Convener of the Education Committee and Vice-Convener of the Cross-Party Group on Sustainable Transport.
