| Ewan Dow was born on the 8 th December 1971 in Dunfermline and was educated at Kirkcaldy and Beath High Schools. He lived in Kelty and Kirkcaldy prior to moving to Perthshire following his election to the then Tayside Regional Council in 1994. Ewan was leader of the successful SNP Administration of Tayside Regional Council from 1994-1996 and depute leader and finance convener of the SNP run Perth and Kinross Council from 1995-1999, during which time the council had one of the lowest average council tax rises in Scotland. Currently Ewan is a partner in Kelty based bereavement services firm Ewing (Kelty), the local area's oldest family owned funeral directors and is engaged to be married in June of this year. Hobby wise, Ewan enjoys football, where he is a qualified SFA referee, and, time permitting, following the fortunes of Aberdeen FC and Cowdenbeath FC where Ewan's business is the main shirt sponsor for season 2006/07. Other hobbies include Scottish social history, music and appreciating fine malt whisky. Ewan is a former member of the SNP's National Executive Committee, was SNP parliamentary candidate for Stirling in 1997 and is currently Convener of the SNP's Disciplinary Committee. | Helen Eadie was born on the 7 th March 1947 in Stenhousemuir and educated at Larbert High School and the London School of Economics where she obtained a Certificate in Trade Union Studies (Industrial Relations Department). From 1970 to 1976 she was Parliamentary Assistant to Harry Ewing, the MP for Stirling, Falkirk & Grangemouth and to Alex Eadie, the MP for Midlothian. From 1976 to 1984 she was a full-time trade union official in the GMB with special responsibilities for Equal opportunities, Political Organisation and Recruitment. From 1984 until 1986 she was the manager of West Fife Enterprise. From 1986 until 1999 she was a member of Fife Regional Council holding the posts of Deputy Leader and Chair of the Equal Opportunities Committee, and was then Fife Council Transportation Spokesperson. She is married and is a member of the Church of Scotland, the GMB and the Co-operative party. In the parliament she is Convener of the Cross-Party Group on Sustainable Forestry and Forest Products andÊDeputy Convener of the Cross-Party Group on Disability.
