![]() | 'Students are to target Liberal Democrat MSP Mike Pringle over what they claim is his "betrayal" over top-up fees. They say he promised to oppose Scottish Executive plans for higher fees for medical students from south of the Border - but then voted in favour of the move. Mr Pringle, who is defending a slender majority of 158 in Edinburgh South at next year's Scottish Parliament elections, denies he said he would definitely vote against the extra fees.' Robert Holland (Not standing on Central Scotland list) |

| Graham Sutherland was originally selected but had to stand down as candidate for Edinburgh South for health reasons. Robert Holland was selected as the new candidate. He is aged 34, a solicitor, and has played football for both Spartans and Edinburgh City. In addition, his father is a cousin of Lib Dem MSP Mike Pringle. Mr Holland said: ""My own view is the Labour and Lib Dem candidates are both career politicians with a background on the council and there are a lot of voters who don't want a community council at Holyrood. They want people from outside the political bubble. And my message is that a Conservative vote is a wasted vote and if people want rid of the Executive parties, the ones to vote for are the SNP."
