Dear Sir:
Let me confirm for Mr Douglas Stewart (Letters 2/9) that the SNP is indeed committed to "information for information's sake" through the medium of our world wide web pages. That is the ethos of the internet and we believe in encouraging it, unlike Labour who have not a single link to any external site on their pages - an extraordinary example of "narrow nationalism" in web terms.
In fact, only today we have added yet another link - this time to the web pages of "Scottish Labour Action" whose site bemoans the way that Labour in Scotland is run by remote control from Blair's office and the dinner tables of the gliterati in Islington.
As for the site owned and operated by Dr Iain Old the wealth of statistical information on local authority by-elections, and past local and parliamentary elections that he has made available are invaluable to all who are seriously interested in Scottish politics. That is why we have a clear, identified link out of our site, to his site based in France. Iain Old has also provided on his pages the only maps of Scottish electoral boundaries available on the internet.
His predictions and commentary are his business, but I note with interest that his latest site revision had finalised the details of a number of seats that Jack McConnell drew attention to at his ill fated and miserably ill informed press conference.
