Last night, the councillor, described by Labour's chief whip, Nick Brown, as a "known opponent of the Labour Party", said he was "appalled and aghast" at Labour's decision to suspend Mr Graham. He believed the MP would be vindicated.
He added: "Donald Dewar appears to have surrendered political control of the Labour Party to the Daily Record and if he thinks that the action taken will sort out Paisley, he is woefully way off the mark."
Criticising Labour for conducting its own inquiry, he claimed that the failed 1995 probe into the Renfrewshire party proved that it was incapable of getting to the bottom of the issues.
"Labour had this information in 1995, but they insisted on listening to the militant cabal that controls the party," he said. "I've been a victim of a so-called inquiry myself - and they don't listen - their minds are already made up."
The new probe would make the same mistakes as the old one and should be taken out of the hands of the party.
He insisted he was not an enemy of the Labour Party, but only of "factions within the Labour Party" - Mr Mack, a former deputy leader of Renfrew District Council has been expelled from the local party.
He says a faction led by Nancy Allison, the provost, was involved in dubious practices and that Irene Adams, the MP for Paisley North, raised concerns about drugs links with the FCB security firm, and about membership irregularities, to ensure that she was not deselected.
The councillor, who with Mr Graham was criticised in Gordon McMaster's suicide note, has also come under fire for his alleged part in the campaign to smear the late MP. He said: "The wolves had to be given a carcass and, sadly, Tommy seemed to fit the bill."
He urged Labour to widen the probe to cover councillors deselected two years ago and added: "People who have remained silent for so long out of misplaced loyalty to the Labour Party, will come out now."
