| Alistair Campbell was educated in Paisley and Glasgow and trained in Business Management. From 1975 to 2005 he was Founder and Managing Director of a group of businesses in hotels, leisure and tourism. From 2006 to date he has been Senior Partner in Land-use, Regeneration and Hospitality Consultancy Firm. His interests include Country Sports, Ski-ing, DIY, Gardens, Sailing,Ê Music, Rotary, SSPCA, WWF for nature, Farming, Point-to-Pointing, Travelling, The Kirk. Alistair is a Scottish businessman who, having enjoyed thirty years of private sector industry, has decided to enter politics. He joined the Paisley and Renfrewshire Conservative and Unionist Association in 2006 and was the Conservative candidate in the Elderslie by-election in the same year. He took the PartyÕs placing ahead of the Lib Dems and helped reduce LabourÕs long standing hold to a tiny majority (There was a 16.1 % swing to the SNP). He stood in Paisley East and Ralston during the 2007 Council elections, again increasing the Conservative vote in a Labour stronghold. Alistair is looking forward to the challenge of fighting for Renfrewshire in the next General Election as a Scottish Conservative and Unionist. He thinks politicians of all parties have to regain the respect and trust of the public which has been lost over the last decade or so.
