| Gerald attended Lendrick Muir School in Rumbling Bridge, Kinross read Chemistry and then Management at Heriot Watt University.ÊHe took up an academic career culminating in a post at Strathclyde University and elected membership of the UniversityÕs senate before founding his own business and becoming a marketing consultant. He is a member of the Market Research Society, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Chartered Marketer.Gerald has business interests in Perth and Glasgow where his head office is located in the cityÕs central financial district.Ê His hobbies include field sports, flying and writing.Ê He is the author of two professional books on marketing and is a contributor to several others. Gerald has over 25 years service with the British Red Cross as a volunteer and is a Civilian Gliding Instructor with the Air Cadets the Royal Air Forces youth movement. Gerald said: "I am delighted to have been selected to stand for the Ochil and South Perthshire constituency. There is such a lively and active Conservative Association in the area and I am honoured to be following in the footsteps of some of the great Scottish Conservatives who have served within the area." He has also been selected as fourth on the Tory Scottish list for the 2009 European elections.
