After a few years working in the financial sector, Richard managed to escape and now works as a political researcher. After a spell as Head of Campaigns at SNP HQ, he worked in the Scottish Parliament as a researcher. He then spent a year in Westminster before returning to Scotland. He now lives and work in Aberdeenshire. When not working, he plays the fiddle (when it suits) in various ceilidh bands, and writes for the 'Scots Independent' Newspaper and website.

Ross Thomson is aged 20 and is a student of politics and international relations at Aberdeen University. He works part time in a supermarket. He is a keen scuba diver and also enjoys reading, films, leafleting and nights out with freinds. Upon his selection as a Scottish parliament candidate in November 2006, he commented: "I am delighted to be selected as the candidate for the Coatbridge and Chryston constituency. I relish the opportunity to fight for local people and hold the Labour Party to account. They have neglected this area for too long. I promise to be a strong voice for Coatbridge and Chryston and I vow to fight our corner."
