![]() | 'Both Richard Lochhead of the SNP and Mary Scanlon for the Conservatives are giving up existing list seats at Holyrood in order to fight for this constituency place. By definition, one or both will be leaving Holyrood, at least temporarily. In itself, that is an intriguing, if minor, footnote in political history. But then Moray is used to making history.' The Conservatives and Labour will formally launch their campaigns for the Moray by-election today. Mary Scanlon is the Conservative candidate, while Sandy Keith will contest the by-election for Labour.
Richard Lochhead launched his campaign for the Scottish National Party yesterday and the Scottish Liberal Democrats have selected Councillor Linda Gorn.
The contest for the seat at Holyrood was prompted by the death of SNP member Margaret Ewing last month.
