*The Scottish National Party, Conservative & Unionists and Liberals sent party representatives to the European Assembly from 1973 until the first direct elections in 1979. Labour did not send any representatives until after the referendum on EEC membership in 1975. There is a gap in the Liberal representation from 1975 - 1976 when Gladwyn Jebb, Baron Gladwyn appears to have been the only Liberal representative from the UK.
