Forth (South Lanarkshire) 1 st June 1995

This election was not a by-election. Due to the death of one of the candidates, the election in ward 15 (Forth) of South Lanarkshire was not held on the 5 th of April, but postponed until the 1st of June.

On the 1st of June the seat was a head to head contest between Labour and the Scottish National Party. Labour took the ward with 65% of the vote and a majority of 370 over the SNP. The turnout was 43.0 %.
