The SSP candidate for the Hurlford North, Galston West, Crookedholm and Moscow (yes, that's right - Moscow) by election for East Ayrshire Council is Jim Monaghan.
The by election was called after the death of Labour councillor David MacRae. His widow will be the Labour candidate.
In a cynical move last week, local MSP Margaret Jamieson sent a letter to everyone in the electoral ward praising the work of Councillor MacRae and telling the voters that she would be campaigning in the area.
Jim said: 'Once again we are the only party campaigning on the real issues that genuinely affect the lives of the people of Galston, Hurlford, Moscow and Crookedholm.
'We want debate on local and national issues.'
The East Ayrshire branches of the SSP in Cumnock and Kilmarnock are hoping to build on the success of last month's by election in Dalmellington.
Our candidate there, Murray Steele, polled over 12 per cent of the vote.
If anyone can lend a hand in the campaign between now and polling day on June 6, contact Colin Rutherford on 01563 531615.
