Labour ministers were concerned about the case for Scottish independence. The information was kept confidential at the time to keep Nationalism

SNP candidate Angela Constance has launched the SNP's latest campaign leaflet warning of 'Labour's pensions bombshell' ahead of the visit of David Blunkett MP, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, to Livingston today.
Mr Blunkett has opened the door to raising the retirement age to 67 and Chancellor Gordon Brown has called for a 'national debate' on the issue.
Commenting Ms Constance said:
David Blunkett has some serious questions to answer on his visit to Livingston today. He has let the cat out of the bag by opening up debate on raising the retirement age.
Labour will pinch two years of people's pensions if they can get away with it. This is Labour's pensions bombshell. They want hard working families to work even harder before they can get their basic pension.
If Labour want a national debate, let it begin today in Livingston. Local voters can tell Labour exactly what they think about losing two years of their pension.
A defeat for this discredited Labour Party will send a clear message to Mr Blunkett and his Labour colleagues - get your hands off our pensions.
