There were no opinion polls in Scotland until the end of the campaign. However a survey by Strathclyde Unviersity suggested a four way split of the vote with Labour, the SNP, the Tories and the other parties combined polling 25 % of the vote each.
A UK-wide YouGov poll published in the Daily Telegraph on the 24 th May revealed that amongst those 'very likely' to vote, the figures were (with the actual 1999 figures in brackets):
Conservatives 31 % (36 %)
Labour 23 % (28 %)
UK Independence Party 18 % (7 %)
Lib Dems 15 % (13 %)
Greens 6 % (6 %)
Other 7 % (10 %)
