Glasgow Anniesland By-elections 2000

saltire shield'There is a crucial difference between a journalist with political opinions and one who actively serves two masters. Nobody can object to Mr McLeish's desire to brief correspondents and editors who sympathise with his principles but that is not the same as employing people who once had or still maintain a foot in both camps. The former is good public relations; the latter is sleaze.'
